The K-G's and the election

Sorry for not keeping up with my daily-posting promise. This election thing... just... you know... I needed time to take it all in. I also needed some time to rest.

Kyle and I both contributed to election coverage in Bulgaria. I kept an election day diary and Kyle worked on a photo-essay for Idealist, a new progressive publication out of Sofia. We loved working on those projects... as we were both very personally invested in Obama's election campaign. I also participated in Re:TV's special election programming, commenting on the election and reporting on election results. It was a truly amazing but also an extremely stressful experience. I am so happy we got a chance to share our enthusiasm for Obama with Bulgarians and, also, I love the fact that our professional and personal interests continue to keep us connected to Bulgaria. That's how I've always thought it should be.

When people ask us where we plan to live, we always say... well... in the US and in Bulgaria. But I sort of feel like they don't really believe us. I am not sure if there is anything I could ever say or do to convince them otherwise. But I couldn't care less, really. After spending a day taking pictures of people casting their vote on Tuesday, Kyle came home... hopeful but exhausted and asked if I would make him mish-mash for dinner. I rest my case.
