Don't be afraid of Santa

This holiday season, Kyle and I have been mad about video montages of crying children having their picture taken with Santa. I was telling my parents about it and Dad sent me the following portrait of me at the age of 3, I think. The picture was taken minutes after I got my glamorous purse-present from Santa (We called him Grandfather Frost in Bulgaria at the time).

I emailed the picture to Kyle and here's what he wrote back in response.

Some observations:

1. You are adorable.
2. You said you were "almost" crying...
3. You have the same haircut!
4. Kude e Diado Mraz?
5. Mnogo te obicham, tikvarina.

Happy New Year to you all! Don't be afraid of Santa!

Santa is frightening for kids. Grandfather Frost sounds terrifying.

NIce :)! Your cute purse made me think - did socialist Bulgaria pay royalties to Disney in the early 80s :)?

I love this. My mother could never get me to "go see Santa" at the mall. If we were there and set the tiniest foot in the direction of Santa's "house" I threw myself to the ground screaming and flailing saying I don't wanna and I won't go. Mom would have to cart me out to the car before charges of abuse were filed.
